Our Mission
To preserve and promote the Cantonese and Toisan language/dialect; to honor the forefathers for their contributions to the building of the U.S. TRANSCONTINENTAL RAILROAD, and to remember U.S. MILITARY VETERANS of Cantonese/Toisan descent. This Cantonese & Toisan Society also supports and helps promote businesses of NYC'S Historic Chinatown and most of all, bring Cantonese and Toisan speakers and learners together through free language lessons and various fun activities to keep the language alive and thriving. FREE Cantonese & Toisan lessons since 2003 in person and virtually. Everyone is welcomed to join.

Upcoming:
Starting 10/2 and 10/9, class + social is held on the 1st two Fridays of each month, 6pm-8pm. After that, we will be every Thursday 6-7:15pm. Please purchase something at the food court, so we can continue hosting for free there. Email to rsvp proudtobecantonese@gmail.com.
Location: 98 Mott St NYC Chinatown "Mott St Eatery" Food Court.
Social meet up to mingle and speak Cantonese/Toisanese. We chat and eat small snacks at local Chinese businesses to support Chinatown. Kimberlina herself was born and raised in Chinatown, and as the Cantonese-Toisan society, all our activities also seek to support the real people that make up Chinatown. The events happen on a 2 month cycle. We also have a youth group.
Beginner to Conversational & Intermediate Vocab
*Thursdays, 6pm - 6:30pm. For kids with adults and beginners. In-person and Zoom.
Intermediate (Conversational Cantonese Class)
*6:30pm - 7:15pm.
